The Gettysburg Guard

If your interested in becoming a Civil War Living Historian (a.k.a. "reenactor"), or are currently looking for a different experience with your Living History impression, look no further. In this special edition, bonus episode of the "Rally on the Colors" Podcast, Bill, Ty, and Steve deep dive the Gettysburg Guard's Living History branch, the Bureau of Military Information (BMI). Freshly minted and officially now a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in less than a year after its inception, the Gettysburg Guard through the BMI offers an extremely unique and one-of-a-kind living history impression. Not only does the 2024 Calendar of Events get released in this special edition bonus episode, but the Organizational Principles and Guidelines for the BMI get discussed at length. Aimed at educating not only the general public but other historians about the historical version of the BMI that was established in 1863 and served the Army of the Potomac through the end of the war, the BMI Living History also focuses on providing Federal Command Staff with an immersive experience pertaining to intelligence preparation of the battlefield by providing topographical maps of the event area, engaging in real-time scouting and reconnaissance operations, and provides intelligence pertaining to troop movements, disposition and unit identification during scenarios at battle reenactments.

We hope you enjoy this special edition bonus episode. If your interested in joining the BMI leaves us a message on any of our social media platforms or contact us at gettysburgguard.recruitment@gmail.com.

Stay tuned for the next episode of the ORs; Who ran first? July 1st, 1863 at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Thank you for your continued support! Without you our generational commitment to education, battlefield and cemetery preservation, and honoring and remembering those who fought and died during the American Civil War would not be possible.
