The "Rally on the Colors" Podcast is back with Season 2. For the Season 2 opener, Bill, Ty, and Steve discuss Confederate Raider/Ranger John Mosby and his raid on Fairfax Court House, VA. This episode deep dives the actions of Mosby and 28 of his men during the period of darkness of March 8-9, 1863. The primary objective of the raid, Union Cavalry Colonel Sir Percy Wyndham, who had previously insulted Mosby, is not in Fairfax Court House at the time of the raid leading Mosby and his men to pivot and in turn capture Union Brigadier General Edwin Stoughton. Stoughton, who is 24-years-old, is the youngest Brigadier General in the Union Army at that time. In total Mosby and 28 Rangers will capture 1 Brigadier General, 2 Captains, 28 enlisted men of various rank and 58 horses without firing a shot while deep behind enemy lines.
